Calling on County Commissioner Cawley

During last night's Borough Council meeting, James Cawley, Bucks County Commissioner, took questions regarding the interaction between the County and Borough government. He entertained a limited set of questions from the Borough Council and residents.

With the impending courthouse construction, I asked that Commissioner Cawley take a hands-on approach with the Borough Council and residents to ensure that the potential disruption is managed in a collaborative fashion. With this request, I was able to get a public commitment from James Cawley that he will "not be a stranger" to Borough Council chambers and continue to engage us. While he has demonstrated a willingness to engage municipalities, I will hold him to this commitment during the challenging period ahead.

On the subject of the courthouse, it is unsettling that a formal plan for the construction is not yet available to the public. Critical issues such as parking are being discussed in very vague terms. The construction and its impact will require critical attention.

As your representative on the Borough Council, I will fight aggressively to ensure that there is action to preserve and protect the interests of residents and businesses in this great town.

Thank you for your support!

Political Sign Theft

One of my supporters had their Det Ansinn Boro Council sign stolen today. The sign was on private property, but extremely visible to motorists. Someone decided that the theft of the sign was the solution -- a minor crime that demonstrates major ethical shortcomings.

My supporters with signs in their yards have personally volunteered to demonstrate their commitment to my campaign. These aren't signs placed by THE party. In fact, I take a great deal of pride in that these supporters aren't exclusively Democrats. These are individual residents expressing their support for active representation. The Det Ansinn for Boro Council signs know no partisanship.

Theft of these signs will not dampen the spirit of my supporters. It simply validates that change is necessary in our local political machine. On November 8th, we can affect that change at the polls. As I have done this whole year, I will work hard to honor your support and be your active representative on the Borough Council.

Thank you

Thank You

I would like to thank everyone who attended the Autumn Cider Social. It was great to see a strong show of support under gray skies this past Sunday. Thank you!

You may have also noticed that it is the season for political signs. Signs for my candidacy are starting to pop up throughout the borough. If you'd like to show your support for active representation on the borough council, you can pick up a sign from Democrat headquarters. If you call 267.297.1215 or email detansinn@gmail.com, I can personally install one in your yard.

Thanks again for your support and consideration of candidacy!

Primary Results

Residents of Doylestown's Ward 1 came out in force to express their support and interest in more effective local government. Turn-out was downright impressive and I'm proud to be given the chance to represent such a fine and active community. You can check out the results of the election here.

As a result of extremely strong participation by Democrats at the primary, we received more votes than any other candidate running for Borough Council! Democrat or Republican in any Ward!

I would like to thank my new friends, old friends, neighbors, and supporters in Doylestown's Ward 1. I am energized by the support and feedback that you've given me. I look forward to the chance to be your representative and advocate on the Doylestown Borough Council.

Please contact me with any of your concerns and/or interests. I will work hard as candidate and council person to make our voice heard.

Thanks again.
